A Bit of Coffee History

Coffee was first consumed in the ninth century, when it was discovered in the highlands of Ethiopia. From there, it spread to Egypt, and by the 15th century, had reached most of northern Africa.. Its popularity then spread to Italy and the rest of Europe. Over the next few centures it had spread to the Americas.

Did you know?

Coffee beans come from coffee berries. The bushes which produce the berries grow only in Latin America, Africa and Southeast Asia. When the beans are ripe, they are picked, dried, roasted, and eventually brewed into the wonderful drink many people around the world enjoy.
