| // family // Without going in to great details, I will share what I can about my family.
My great-grandparents came over from Sweden in the mid-1800's. They settled in central Kansas; the heart of wheat growing country. They farmed that land for all of their lives and raised all of their children (all 10 of them) there.
As the years passed, most of the children headed off to different parts of the U.S., although three of them and their families stayed in Kansas, and their decendents are still there today. Although I am not sure exactly where the remaining siblings settled, most headed to California or New York. The ones I am most familiar with are my family here in New York. |
//  friends  // My friends have changed a lot over the years, but a precious few have been there since I was a child growing up on Hampton Street. Hello to Anne, Christine and Jonie! I still remember all those long summer days, chasing the ice cream truck on our bikes! We all grew up on the same block and got to share our hopes and dreams all these years. Below is a picture of Jonie and Annie right after we caught up to the ice cream truck! My newest friends, Joanne and Carolyn have been attending the same college as me for the last couple of years. We have so much fun exploring Manhattan together! I thank God every day for the blessing of my friends. |
